Community Agro Dealer Project

The Problem

Syngenta wanted to expand its customer base by reaching rural small-scale farmers with its portfolio of maize and vegetable products and services. was looking to pilot a last-mile input delivery model aimed at reaching small-scale farmers and expanding its customer base. 

The Solution

Agova provided business modeling and strengthening support by piloting a last-mile input delivery model and providing business & financial management training to 200 micro-distributors it had partnered with. Agova also secured a $1million grant from USAID to further grow and innovate this input delivery, business model.

Results

This last-mile input delivery model has become Syngenta’s largest sales channel for their horticulture products. 6,000 – 8,000 farmers were reached during the project with improved access to inputs and business support services.
