COVID-19 SME Capacity Building Services
The Challenge
The start of the COVID-19 pandemic presented some unprecedented challenges for Zambian SMEs who had limited resources and were less robust in the face of economic slowdown. Challenges SMEs faced include; disruptions in the ways of working, accessing finance for business continuity and the need to pivot their business models due to the changing market conditions.
The Solution
In partnership with Prospero, consultancy firms Agova and Tandem piloted services that aimed at supporting and training SMEs to plan, restructure, pivot and continue growing their businesses in the face of COVID-19, taking advantage of new opportunities that COVID-19 presented and addressing risks that businesses were facing.
Results
100+ urban and rural SMEs across Zambia were trained and mentored through remote and online platforms in access to finance, business strategy development, and marketing & sales.
